Does this pen look big to you or was there some extra worm in my 'rita?

6 months ago this was a big flat spot in the dirt.

No longer "royale with cheese" I guess
I
thought knew that staying at a backpacker hostel would be crude and loud. I didn't expect that a massive herd of teenagers would actually stand against my door screaming in a language that I couldn't identify (Italian or Portuguese?) until 2AM. I suppose I should really be feeling sorry for the poor souls who are my roommates. For those of you who don't know - I snore like a massive sea monster. I guess it all balances out in the end. I had some books on learning Dutch at home that I was carrying with me to read during bathroom breaks... Having seen and heard quite a lot of Dutch now, I am confident that I will never learn enough of that language to even ask somebody what time it is. Luckily everyone here speaks very good English and they do so without making me feel like an asshole. So, thanks NederlandersS. I have already checked out some really good presentations and I'm amazed that although this event started as a grand meeting of Flash experts, it's been pretty vendor-neutral so far. The personal highlights so far are that if you are a programmer in language X, you are a programmer. Learning the syntax of a new language is minor compared to understanding the concepts of logic and data structures in high level languages, which is something you only have to do once. The context in this case was flash actionscript and javascript but it really applies to coding in general. The very best thing I have seen so far was MCBESS presenting on his process for illustration using manual pen and ink and a tablet with photoshop. This guy is the bee's knees:

Solid coffee and pastries included as well.
